hey guys! I’m thinking about doing another podcast (don’t worry Strangely Literal is NOT going anywhere) called fanTABZulous.
This is going to be more for a general audience… and I’d love ideas for segments… or whatever.
I’m going to definitely have things like reviews of shows/books/movies/music I’m listening to… (or if anyone wants to do a review I’ll be happy to put it on the show). Geek goodness (tech news and etc). Some Jossverse stuff…. My week in review…. feedback and letters… My writing and writing in general… education news and views….
But lemme know what you think!

Ya know….if you would rather not deal with the hassle of a 2nd ‘cast I know of a podcast that could use some added content….LOL
Funny you should mention that.. I was gonna offer to do a review of the “Series of Unfortunate Events” for you guys.. I wrote an article for my friends online mag, but he didn’t use it.
Go for it!
Ooh! If you’re going to be recommending music, can I recommend a band for you to recommend? It’s the East Village Opera Company. They perform classic opera like it’s classic rock and they are absolutely awesome! For many of the songs they mix in their own original lyrics too, achieving an even cooler synthesis of styles. You can listen to clips from their latest album on their website here. “O Mio Babbino Caro” is gorgeous, and “Habanera” (from Carmen) rocks. “When I Am Laid In Earth” rocks pretty hard too, but the clip of it they have online is from a more mellow part of the song.
My sister and I have been to two of their concerts. The first time was at the Celebrate Toronto Festival two years ago, when we had never heard of them before. Neither had any of the audience. We were all just there for the free music. At the end of the set though, everybody LOVED them and they came back for two encores. We paid to see them at a club the second time, and they were just as amazing. They’re a really high-energy group and it’s a great experience to see them perform live.
Cool! Thanks for the review. If you want to write something longer (kind of like this comment actually)… I’d even put the article by you
Really? Cool! How long are you thinking?
2-5 minutes read… (usually 1-2 pages).
Okay, if I have time I’l write something.
aweesome! there’s no rush… I’m not sure when I’m starting the new ‘cast..
I think it would be neat to hear more from you. Kinda like SciFiDig or GeekFu? I love those two, interesting stuff, the culture and writing and reviews and all in all good stuff.
I would love some stuff about books, I think that is one thing lacking in a lote of these podcasts, not enough talk about books I wish I had more time to read! LOL
I really wish someone would do a Song of Ice and Fire podcast too…. ahhh books!
hehehee.. I am going to do “Off the Shelf” about books..
hehehee great minds think alike.
Just FYI – I emailed them and asked if I could play clips of the music on the podcast and they gave their ok!
Ooo I like that title, “Off the Shelf” I can give many recommendations for that… and possibly some reviews if you have not read the same books
Sounds like a great idea … but will you have time for it? (Time issues are heavily on my mind lately.)
Sounds like fun, I’d read it. If i can d/l to cd and save to listen to in the car would def be better, gets so boring stuck in traffic and there’s so many odd looks i can take from singing in it. Wehere’s the ones you’ve done so far archived? Must admit i was hoping to get some firefly ones for tuesday. *hugs*
yep! *chuckles* it’s only going to be every other week. Plus I’m hoping most of it will be content from other people.
Strangely Literal episodes you can get here:
http://strangelyliteral.libsyn.com/
just click on the blue links where it says direct download.
Wicked thanks *grins* I must admit i’m really curious and hopefully it will last me through the evils of traffic lol. I like listening rather than just reading, cos reading can be a bitch at times but talk2text programme thing has a real flat voice.
I hope you enjoy!
Every episode has a bit of news/discussion and then a fanfic… The early episodes are Christmas related (since I started in December)
*grins* cool, I’ll have a listen
Well, then, go for it! Maybe you can borrow stuff from my columns, every now and then.
happily!
